Law Seminars International (LSI) will be holding a conference entitled "Managing Patent Prosecution and Litigation: New Regulations, Rules and Challenges, along with Practical Tips for Success" on August 24, 2007 in San Francisco, CA. The conference will analyze the implications of on-going Patent Office and legislative changes and address strategic patent portfolio development and patent litigation management from an in-house perspective across major technology areas. In particular, the conference's speakers will offer presentations on the following topics:
- Recent patent reforms and pending proposals in Congress and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the implications of these reforms and proposals for prosecution and litigation.
- Best practices in drafting claims and disclosures in light of recent patent law changes.
- Portfolio development, with in-house counsel of software, network and security; biotechnology and pharmaceuticals; and semiconductors and hardware industries.
- Major recent court cases: How they effect damages and the economics of licensing.
